Things to do in Guadeloupe
Guadeloupe is a perfect island for relaxing Caribbean vacation. It offers activities for all kind of travelers. Enjoying the sun on the beach, snorkeling, hiking the volcano, or discovering local culture and fruit plantations – there is the whole range of exciting things to do in one small island.
The island is of course well known for its paradise beaches. Chilling on Plage de La Caravelle, Grande-Anse or Plage de la Perle. On many of them, you can enjoy learning different watersport such as snorkeling, diving, paddling, kitesurfing, surfing and more!
I also loved Guadeloupe for its marvelous hiking trails. The finest of them leads to the volcano’s peak and gives a nice dose of adrenaline. But there are many other wonderful trails leading to stunning waterfalls, jungle basins, or remarkable cliffs.
For people loving more tranquil activities, Guadeloupe holidays will be great after visiting such colorful places as coffee or rum museums, botanical garden, or similar cultural places.

Where to stay in Guadeloupe?
You might now ask the question where exactly to stay in Guadeloupe? Well, no matter if you plan to stay in Guadeloupe resorts, take a Guadeloupe all-inclusive, or simply find a nice hostel with a great atmosphere, it’s good to gather a little bit more information about different locations before looking for top hotels in Guadeloupe.
Personally, I loved the small town of Sainte-Anne, in the Grande-Terre region. It was located in a good place, with bus stops, grocery shops, and some restaurants around. Moreover, it offers two great beaches: the city beach of Sainte-Anne and Plage de la Caravelle. In my opinion this is one of the best places to stay in Guadeloupe.
The other towns that I really liked while traveling on the island were Saint-François, Le Gosier and Deshaies. I am pretty sure you will have a great time there.
But the truth is that the island is small enough that if you plan to rent a car, you can live anywhere. That’s why below I didn’t list hotels choice by location but by type.

Résidence Archipel et Savane | Le Gosier
The first hotel in Guadeloupe from our list offers a bunch of rooms with an exceptional sea view. It is located nearly on the beach which is separated from the building only by some palm trees and an outside swimming pool.
The rooms include balconies and kitchenettes, which is perfect for independent stays. The other plus is a big parking next to the hotel, which will definitely support your car rental.
Hôtel Amaudo | Saint-François
This hotel, located in a distant yet well-communicated part of Guadeloupe, has exceptional sea view from hotel rooms. The rooms themselves look pretty charming and peaceful.
The best hotel’s features, besides the views, of course, are delicious breakfasts (9,4/10 according to other guests reviews) and stunning outside infinity pool surrounded by relaxing areas.
Langley Resort Hotel Fort Royal Guadeloupe | Deshaies
This high-quality hotel offers different types of accommodation: luxury rooms, but also charming bungalows located directly on the beach. Most of them have excellent sea view, but others provide a calming picture of an exotic garden. In my opinion, this is one of the best Guadeloupe hotels on beach.
Langley Resort Hotel includes a restaurant serving breakfasts each morning, and a beach bar for an afternoon chill. The hotel is located in a small distance to wonderful Deshaies Botanical Garden.
Romantic escape for two

Ti Plèn Kréol | Pointe-Noire
This lovely corner creates the oasis of peace and happiness. Small bungalows hidden among tropical plants only wait for you to come and admire their charm.
Each of them has its own terrace with dining table and hammock. Eating morning breakfast in such green circumstances must taste like in the jungle paradise.
Ravine Bleue | Sainte-Rose
This complex of a few vacation houses offers a very unique atmosphere. You can rent a big house with a few beds, smaller bungalow perfect for couples, or… a bungalow in the shape of a boat.
